Daniel Figueroa came to Sacramento in the beginning of 1990 along with his wife and first son Daniel Jr. They resided in the City of Carmichael where they welcomed two more sons Isac in 1992 and Jorge in 1993. After having to support a family Daniel pursued a small plumbing company out of Carmichael where he began his journey as a plumber apprentice. He started off working out of town repairing water and gas lines in trailer parks then moving onto water meters. After feeling the strain on being away from his family Daniel pursued a local plumbing company out of Rocklin Ca. where he was trained in new construction plumbing.
As the millennium hit and the economy took a nose dive Daniel was layed off. So after working with many different” New construction “company’s and being layed off due to contracts ending, Daniel pursued a different path in Plumbing and took on a position with a Service Plumbing company that was on call where he learned how to do everything from a clogged drain to a new bathroom addition.
When the bills started to pile up and the hours went down Daniel was forced to look for more dependable work that landed him a job in Sacramento where he was hired as a Plumber taking service calls 24 hours a day 7 days a week. During this time our sons were old enough to work and Daniel brought in Daniel Jr and Jorge as labors to the plumbers.
As years had passed Daniel and the boys were forced to seek new employment due to the company going out of business. That’s when Daniel Jr mentioned to Daniel Sr. “ Dad you should open your only plumbing business so you don’t have to worry about being laid off”
After a little time had passed Daniel was doing odd and end jobs enough to where he was able to use the boys and establish some cliental.
In December 2014 our family suffered a trajedy where we lost our oldest son Daniel Jr. in a car accident along with his girlfriend and a couple of family members. For a moment we felt like this was the end of our lives. How would we even bare to move forward with a big part of our family missing. It was at that time where we relied more and more on the Lord for strength and guidance.
After about two years since the passing of our son Daniel, I started to remember those words “Dad you should start your own business”
And that is where the journey began…
I started to pray to God and ask him if it’s your will then it will be done. I enrolled in a contractor’s school and started to take classes, crash courses and practice test at home. With much dedication and long nights of studying I passed the required courses needed to be a Plumbing Contractor.
Today I stand here as an owner of my own business “Fig’s Plumbing” dedicated to the Lord for the will in my life and in loving memory of our beloved son “Daniel Anthony Figueroa”
